Over the past 6 years eCube has built a track record of delivering solutions that enable legacy systems developed in COBOL and the C language to participate in service oriented architectures.  Products, such as IBM CTG Gateway and the WebSphereESB, are powerful additions to eCube’s custom enterprise evolution services, each helping IBM mainframe applications provide and consume Web services.

eCube Systems has partnered with SOA Software, the leading provider of comprehensive SOA and Web services management, security, mediation and run-time governance solutions, to deliver CICS based service-oriented solutions.  Particular focus is given to extending ROI and performance of existing mainframe applications that rely on IBM CICS with SOA's SOLA product. 

SOLA was developed by Merrill Lynch as a means to enable CICS to provide and consume Web Services.  This work was hugely successful at Merrill, where SOLA is now extensively deployed, running 3,000,000 transactions a day and forming the backbone of the mainframe integration infrastructure.  Thanks to the ease of use and efficiency of SOLA, Merrill estimates that it has saved at least $45,000,000, while making the firm more agile and improving the reliability of the environment.

A year ago, the technology and CICS experts that developed SOLA were acquired by SOA Software. SOLA is a great complement to eCube's expertise in evolving, integrating and extending the ROI of legacy systems.
